International Seminar. Resonances and convivialities – with Hartmut Rosa and Alain Caillé

Definitely, the world is in a tailspin. The utopia of progress is now the dystopia of regression. Some societies today are in a state of accelerated decomposition, while others find themselves trapped in endless crises. We must try to get off the road that leads us to ever closer abysses. How can we build new directions in global society? Is it possible to regenerate theoretical critique, social practices, and political imagination through the confluence of resonances and convivialities?

This is the question we propose in the International Seminar “Resonances and convivialities: new directions in global society“, which will have lectures by Hartmut Rosa and Alain Caillé, with commentaries by Paulo Henrique Martins, André Magnelli, Arthur Bueno, Maria de Jesus Leite and Genauto Carvalho de F. Filho.

Organized by the independent study and research institution Ateliê de Humanidades and the Center for Higher Studies of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), the event counts on the partnership, in Brazil, of the International Relations Directorate of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and the School of Administration of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA); and, internationally, it counts on the support of the Mouvement anti-utilitariste en sciences sociales (M. A.U.S.S.), the International Convivialist Movement, the Max-Weber-Kolleg of the University of Erfurt, Jena Universität and Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main.
